Cabin Fever

Hello friends.  I hope you had a nice extended weekend.  We just spent a lovely long weekend in the mountains of Lake Tahoe.  Hanging out in the cabin and the ski lodge have made me enjoy and appreciate the coziness of cabin life.  I love the massive roaring fireplaces, the rustic decor, the beaming natural light!

The images below make me want to head back up to the snow!

What do you think?  So cozy, right?  I like it when cabin style is mixed with some rustic luxe pieces. Such an unexpected juxtaposition!

Fall Table Vignette

Hey Y’all!  Since it is officially fall, I thought I would share with you a fall table I set up.  I am calling it a fall “vignette” because I have a serious dislike for the word “tablescape.”  I think I watched too many episodes of Semi-Homeade with Sandra Lee on the Food Network, and saw too many cheesy “tablescapes.”

I wanted it to feel rustic, yet glamorous.  Hopefully, that is the feeling it exudes!

The runner, platters and vases are from Pottery Barn.  The chargers are from Ikea.

The napkins are from Pottery Barn and the napkin rings from Pier One.  The beautiful soup tureen was inherited from my husband’s grandmother.  The plates are from Tuesday Morning, and the glassware is the Napoleonic Bee Collection by La Rochere Glassware that I scored at Marshall’s many moons ago.

The olive branches are from my very own yard and the assorted fall gourds are from my local grocery store (some embellished by my favorite gold spray paint)!

Have you set the table for fall yet?  It is the coziest season for a dinner party.  My husband and kids keep asking me who is coming to dinner, so I better start on a pot of warm soup pronto!

Have a great Monday!

xoxo
