Hello friends both old and new. Marty at A Stroll Thru Life has done it again and has a team of 30 bloggers ready to show you their homes decked out for Summer. If you are heading over from Erica at Designing Vibes -Welcome! Don’t you just love what she has done with her outdated ranch style home? So fresh and modern. It is hard to believe her before and after photos!
If you are new here, I’m Jennifer – a Human Resources consultant by day and a design enthusiast and blogger in the wee hours of the night! Our family recently purchased our dream home that we rented for 3 years, so are so excited to fix it up and make it our own one room at a time.
So let’s start the tour. We recently had some photos taken, so I thought we would formally welcome you!
Since we are already in the living room, lets talk about how I have changed things up. First off, I added some new throw pillows. They are from the Threshold brand at Target and I love the casual bird print. I think they add a summery touch to our navy sofas. I am also loving the combination of the hot pink from the peonies with the navy.
Here is the view from another angle. You get a little glimpse of my obelisk collection, which I purchased mostly from Homegoods over the years.
Here is the view from the other side of the room that incorporates our fireplace. I rarely show this side of the room because our television is over the mantle and I hate it! #smallhouseproblems.
I also added this fun pierced white vase to my collection. I love the modern contrast with the flowers.
Up next in the dinning room, I went with a Chinoserie vibe. I just can’t get enough of it. It really is timeless.
Some fresh flowers in the farmhouse sink scream summer to me.
Off our kitchen we have a small breakfast nook. For this room, I went for something a little different for me with a 4th of July theme. I thought it would tie in well with the wallpaper.
The plates are from Target and bowls are from Homegoods. The adorable rooster napkin rings were my husband’s grandmas.
We have this very small space on the side of our yard that I have never really done anything with. This year, I added a bench, some new planter boxes from Home Depot, hydrangeas and some cute kids. I think it is a good start. It is such a charming space, I am just at a loss for what to do with it.
Thank you for joining my tour. I hope you found some inspiration. Up next is Andrea at Life on Cedar Lane. Here style is totally up my alley. Her home is a breath of fresh air. You must check it out. You can see the rest of the weeks tour here:
