Plans for the Master Bedroom

Hi Friends!

I wrote here earlier this month about updating our master bedroom this year as one of my house goals for 2017.  I am glad to report that plans are actually in the works.  We have some behind the scenes work do to such as ordering new doors and moving the electrical, but I have been busy dreaming up the specifics of the space.

On top of it, I found this beauty on Craigslist for only $60. Cue happy dance!!  It will be the new light fixture for the space.  All it needs is a fresh coat of paint and it will definitely add interest and whimsy to my space.  Right now we have an awful ceiling fan, so anything is an improvement!

Here is my tentative plan for the space.

For the walls, I have chosen the color Pink Ground by Farrow and Ball.  It is truly the faintest shade of blush.  It is like the color of a ballet slipper.  I think it will pair well with the navy.  The bedding is from Ballard Designs.  I wanted something simple and classic, where I can switch it up by swapping out accent pillows.  I was also offered to try out one of the Unique Rugs Store’s vintage Persian rugs!!  I will let you know all the deets once it has arrived.

For our new bed, I am thinking something like this:

We are FINALLY upgrading to a King.  With two kids and a dog, our queen bed is busting at the seams.  I often find myself moved into my 5 year old’s bed in the middle of the night.  Can anyone else relate?

What do you think?  Do you like it?  If anyone has suggestions for nightstands that are affordable and on the smaller side, please let me know.  Now that we have a King bed, I have to downsize our nightstands.

I can’t wait to see it all come together!

  1. I was reading another blog the other day and they had used two small campaign style nightstands in a bedroom that came from Target the nursery section of the web site. They where very reasonable and would be PERFECT with your plan.

Love the hues, perfect fresh colors. I recently added Navy and white, am looking for a splash of another color. Can’t wait to see the finish. I always look forward to your adventures in home projects, motivates me.
