Hi friends! I am beyond thrilled to be participating in the Christmas Home Tours series hosted by Marty @ A Stroll Thru Life. She is such a sweet person and has rounded up a talented group of bloggers to show their holiday homes.
If you are heading over from Monica Wants It– Welcome! I am so happy to have you here and hope you find something inspirational to recreate (or at least tuck away for Pinterest for “later”)!
I usually have a distinct theme for my holiday decorating but this year, I honesty went with what felt beautiful in the moment. I am calling it “Merry and Bright with a Hint of Winter White.”
Since this is a tour, why don’t we start at my outdoor entry.
I am very lucky to have a partially covered patio, so all of these goodies can stay out all season long!
One of my favorite vingettes ever involved rain boots and tulips (you can see it here). So, I thought I would recreate it with a holiday twist!
I was so excited to find this handmade birch sign at a boutique recently. I thought about DIY’ing it but then had flashes of burning myself with a glue gun and almost sawing a finger off and I reconsidered.
Well enough of the great outdoors, come on inside.
I have a very small entry way, so my tiny console table is decorated with some simple silver ball ornaments. The pop of pink from the orchid is enough color! My vintage Staffordshire dogs got a little makeover with some fancy beaded fringe ornaments.
Next, you will find our dining room. My entire dining room set is a Craigslist score. You gotta love the look for less.
No home tour would be complete without my beloved zebra which was an estate sale find! In order to match the lavender fabric on the chairs, I went with purple ornaments for him (yes, it is a him!)
We have a lovely crystal chandelier that is original to our 1920’s home and I have been dying to do something with it at Christmas for years. This year, I opted for Amaryllis flowers and simple greenery.
To the side of our dining room, we have another small console table that was a bargain find from Marshall’s that I pained with Annie Sloan Chalk paint.
Now onto my personal favorite-the tree! We get a fresh tree and are lucky that we have high ceilings, so we get a pretty tall one. Last year we had a “leaner” that almost caused a divorce
Most of my ornaments are jewel toned, which I love. However, one of these years, I would love to invest in some classic red and green decor for the holidays. If only money were no object. A different themed tree every year -right?
I used some antlers to showcase some African glass beads I recently bought at an Antique Faire and I love how organic they look.
My abstract art piece got an interesting twist with some geometric ornaments from Ikea strung together on some string. It could not have been simpler to do, but has such a whimsical impact.
Next up is our mantle, which is the stepchild of my home. I vowed this year to have my husband take down our flat screen TV so I could properly display it in is glory, but alas, you will get edited version of it.
Here are a few shots of our tree at night!
This is our tree as I sit here tonight. I hope you enjoyed the tour! If you would like to check out our Christmas Home Tour from 2014 go here.
