One Room Challenge: Week 4 Progress

ORC-LP-250x183

Hi all!  This should probably be titled Week 4: Lack of Progress.  Eek!!  We are coming down to the wire and I still need to accomplish so much.

However, my sweet mother-in-law really came through this week.  I came home today and had these beautiful silk drapes lying on the bed.

Despite her crazy hectic life, she took the time to sew them for me.  I do have basic sewing skills and a machine, but it would have taken me SOOO much longer.  She is such a life (and budget) saver!!  They are a rich duplioni silk.  I had time to hang one of the panels and I love them.

Sorry for the horrible I-phone photo (it will just make the after pictures so much better, right?). The pale pink color looks a bit different depending on the light.

Even though I can cross the drapery off my list, I still need to finish the following:

Upholster and install my cornice board above my window treatments and hope they turn out similar to this.  It should arrive by the end of the week.

I still need to do my DIY framed wallpaper panels.

Framed Wallpaper 2

I have cut the MDF board to size and ordered the trim for the frame.  This should be a relatively quick process.  The hardest part is going to be getting my husband to help me hang them on the walls! Seriously, weeks ago we repainted the entire interior of our home and to date, almost EVERY single piece of art that was once hung is still leaning against the walls.  I might have to make it my mission to make that a major interior design trend!

I also still need to find a few sunburst mirrors to use on one of the walls.  When I determined I did not have enough wallpaper for an entire wall in the room, I decided to use the look of a bunch of mirrors to decorate one wall space.  Similar to this, but with less gold.

Mirrors

Needless to say it is going to be a busy, DIY kind of weekend around our house.

Stay tuned next week and don’t forget to follow along with the other ORC participants here.

xoxo,
