Fall(ish) Mantel

I have a confession to make.  I have never really loved decorating for fall.  I think it is because my birthday is in October and the decorations and colors in the calendars, etc,. were always orange and brown.  As I child I did not like those colors and they are still not my faves.

However, right now I do love gold and white and that can work for fall as well.  So, here is my new obsession incarnate on a mantle.

Mantel 2 wm (2)

mantel 3 wm (2) Mantel WM I kept it very simple and modern.  I am not a fall leaf garland kind of gal!

The lanterns are from Threshold at Target and I found them for $10 each on clearance!  The framed pictures are just framed marbled paper.  The frames are brown Ribba frames from Ikea that I spray painted gold, and the paper I found at Hollander’s.

The wood centerpiece is from Marshall’s and it is called Grapewood.  Grapewood is a natural wood that grows in coastal parts of California.  Each piece is unique.  I love its rustic and beachy feel.

How have you decorated for fall?  It it one of your favorite seasons?

  1. Love all the gold and especially that driftwood! Classy!

    • Thanks Leslie! I was really trying to go for something simple and elegant this year. I tend to be more traditional, but it is fun to make tweaks to your style from year to year! Thanks for reading!!

  2. Your mantel is lovely! Those gold lanterns are a serious score! Did you get them recently?

    • Hi Ceci! I actually bought them in late July at Target. They were on clearance then and they were trying to move things out for Back to School stuff! That is at my Target here in Northern California!
