Despite the fact that we are having record temperatures where I live, I am wishfully thinking of fall. I wear sweaters in the morning, only to tear them off by 10:00 a.m., and the pumpkins spice lattes are not quite as cozy in 97 degree weather!
Even though mother nature is not cooperating, I am trying to get into the spirit of fall. So, here is my attempt at adding some fall touches to the mantel. I think of subtle colors and natural elements when I think of fall decorating. No orange and yellow for this gall!
I also decorated this mantel using things I already owned and just pulled them from other spaces in my home. The mirror and lantern are from Homegoods and the vases are Nate Berkus for Target (no longer available). I am also currently obsessed with feathers and found that my father who is a fly fisherman had ample stock which he uses to make flys!
Have you started decorating for fall or does it feel too much like summer for you? What fall elements do you incorporate?
You can see my mantel from last year here!

Now that is drop dead gorgeous! and I love that you borrowed your Dad’s feather from his fishing stash! LOL
Thanks so much Christine! I almost bought some way overpriced feathers online when I realized that he may have some and what do you know I found an entire Rubbermaid bin! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Great mantlescape! Does the term mantlescape bother your as much as tablescape?? :-). I love to decorate with simple Fall decorations such as a glass jar of apples or a tray of pine cones. The simpler the better. Love the feathers!
Hi Tamara! For some reason I think the term “mantelscape” does not bother me as much 🙂 You crack me up! I love the idea of decorating with nature. Last yea,r I used pomegranates in a bowl and it was lovely! xo
Ahh, texture and gold, my favorite, Jennifer! I’d be pretty happy looking at that all fall!
Thanks so much Pam! It is so nice to change things up with the seasons. Although, I am sure like me, you are already gearing up for Christmas time!!
Jennifer, I love your fresh, crisp mantel! Feathers just make everything better. 😉 Thanks for linking up with us at Best of the Nest!
Thanks Jennifer! So much fun to switch out the mantel with the change of the seasons. Thank you for the Best of the Nest link party. So much inspiration! xo
