DIY Reindeer Moss Wreath

Hi everyone!  I am over my leaning Christmas tree I wrote about here, and am plugging away on lots of fun projects.  I posted here all about tips for decorating with moss. In particular, I love reindeer moss, as it is light and airy, and I adore the chartreuse color.  I really wanted to make a wreath this year, but was a bit bored with boxwood and pine.  In addition, my colors for holiday decorating this year are pink and bright green, so I opted for a reindeer moss wreath.

It could not be simpler to make.  All you need is:

  •  A 12″ foam wreath mold.  I found mine here.
  • Two bags of reindeer moss. I found mine here.
  • A glue gun and glue sticks.

Simply crank up the heat on your glue gun, and slowly add small bunches of the moss to the foam mold.  Fill in any holes after. Try and avoid the cursing and yelling that occurred as I proceeded to burn myself AGAIN and AGAIN with the hot glue gun.

Here is how it turned out.

It is so full and lush, I want to constantly touch it.  I have heard, however, that it can dry out, so I am trying to preserve it by misting it every few days.  So far, so good.

Do you decorate with wreaths for the holidays?  Do you do store-bought or DIY? Please share in the comments.  I am always looking for creative wreath ideas!

      • Hey Jennifer! Thanks so much for your visit and comments on my post. Target clearance is the best. I’m so excited for after Christmas sales. I tried to to follow you as well after my visit. Are you on Bloglovin? I got an error message when I tried to follow your Instagram link.

        • Yes, I am on Bloglovin and also Instagram as decoratingdelirium. I will have to check out why my link is not working. I am relatively new to blogging and while I love it, the technical side of it is definitely not my forte! Thanks for the heads up and I am super excited to get ton of inspiration from your blog.

          Happy Holidays!

    • Thank you Yuko! It could not be easier. It is a nice way to bring nature indoors and transitions well into spring. I popped by your blog and adore your creativity and honesty. I have had a similar experience that started me in blogging. I had a career that left me unfulfilled, two babies, and then needed to do something for myself. Congratulations on you recent blog-oversary and opening of your Etsy store!
