Hi all! Just popping in to show you a quick DIY project I did over the weekend and announce the winner of the Delta In2ition showerhead.
First things first. Stephanie Grant who followed Decorating Delirium on Pinterest is our lucky winner. Stephanie, I have sent you an e-mail with details. My 3 year blogging anniversary is in September, so mark your calendars for another exciting giveaway!
So, if you are a long time reader, you may recall that I made DIY Lucite Curtain Rod last year. The lovely company, Nationwide Plastics, who custom-made the curtain rods, shipped the excess lucite that had to be cut off. What was left was the perfect amount for a towel bar. When we remodeled our master bath, I knew that eventually I would use the leftover lucite to make a towel bar. 6 months later, I finally got around to doing it.
The process could not have been easier. I simply used a saw (yes, a saw) to cut the lucite to appropriate length and then used an electric sander to buff out the rough edges. I used the same hardware to mount the rod as I did for my curtains.
I am loving the modern edge it is giving our bathroom and it cost me basically nothing! Gotta love an almost free DIY. I have a little bit more left over, so you may be seeing lucite door pulls in the works.
xoxo,

Nice work! It looks beautiful!!:-)
Perfect! I would love to do my rods this way too. What size did you use?
Hi Vel! I have been so pleased with how they turned out. I used rods that were 1 1/2″ in diameter. You can find them here: http://www.nationwideplastics.net/plastic-products/acrylic-curtain-rods/
