Lilly Pulitzer For Pottery Barn

Hi everyone!  I am so excited to tell you guys about this new collaboration.  Lilly Pulizer has a new bright and preppy line for Pottery Barn.  It includes Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and PB Teen.  While there are some classic over the top prints, there are also a lot of more subdued decor, such as the bookshelf below.   Here are a few of my favorites from the collection.

Kennedy Bookcase

Polished Palm Tree Chandelier – A steal at $199

Ikat Lumbar Pillow

Big Palm Wallpaper

Lilly Custom Lumbar

Gold Cane Mirror

Rhodes Occasional Chair

Round Shell Mirror

I love the Palm Beach preppy vibe of Lilly Pulitzer style.  I am seriously considering ordering the rattan bookshelf for my daughter’s room.  Time to get rid of our Target bookcase that is falling apart.

Until next time.

My New Online Shopping Strategy

Hi friends!  Happy Sunday.  I have to share with you a new way to find home decor for a steal.  I am obsessed.  Have you ever heard of “open box sales?”  It is where a customer orders something, decides it is not to their liking and returns it.  The returns department then inspects it to make sure it is in perfect condition and then they turn it around and resell it for a highly reduced price.  So, essentially it is a new, unused item that has just been unboxed.

Open box items are most common with electronics retailers, but many home decor and lighting retailers also have open box items.  Wayfair, Bellacor, and Lumens have open box sales.

Keep in mind this type of bargain hunting is not for the weak of heart.  It is similar to going into a TJ Maxx or Marshall’s and taking the time to slowly go thru the racks looking for the diamond in the rough.  When I looked at Bellacor, for instance, they had 86 pages of open box items.  However, if you love the thrill of getting a deep discount, the rush is worth it.  Here are a few of my favorite finds from Bellacor.  I actually ended up purchasing the rug and chair.  They have arrived and they are in perfect condition and are lovely.

First up is this faux bamboo chair.  I bought this to use as my desk chair.  Regular price: $359.  Open Box price: $153.97.

This rug by Loloi is regularly $179.00.  Open Box price: $75.00.
These vases are modern luxe at its best.  The large one is normally $170.  Open Box price: $64.97

This beautiful vanity light is $186 regular price.  Open Box price: $85.97.

This adorable outdoor light fixture is only $37.87.

What do you think?  Definite steals, right?  Only thing I have found is that the open box price may vary from day-to-day.  So, shop early and shop often.

Do you have any stores where you have found good open box sales?  If so, please let us know your secrets in the comments.

Have a great rest of the day.

Until next time  . . .

Holiday 2017 Gift Guide For The Design Lover

Hi everyone!  I am back with another gift guide for your 2017 shopping pleasure.  I spent all weekend helping to put on a holiday home tour where 6 beautiful homes were decorated beautifully by interior designers, so I have decor on the brain.  Below are my picks for the design lover in your life.

Velvet Pillow / Canisters / Frame / Box / Door Vase / Sculpture

Hoping this gives you some ideas for the loved ones in your life (or for yourself).  I am trying not to panic.  I still have so much shopping to do!

Also, stay tuned.  On Thursday I will have our holiday home tour up as part of A Stroll Thru Life’s blog hop.

Going Digital with Holiday Cards

Hi everyone!  I’m thinking of taking a different approach for my holiday cards this year.  Does this scenario sound familiar?  Spend way to much money on a photographer to take your family photos.  Wait to the last minute to order the perfect holiday card that seemed reasonably priced until there were ridiculous charges for special card shapes, unique envelope liners and shimmer paper.  The cards arrive and you procrastinate addressing them.  Some never make it to their recipients by December 25th?

Despite my promises every year to, “Be more organized this year,” the same thing happens to me every year.  This year, I have decided to save myself the headache, save some trees, and go digital with a holiday card from Paperless Post.

The process could not be easier.  You simply upload your photo (if you want to use one), customize the card, enter in your recipient email addresses and hit send.  Then if you are type A like me, you add it to your to-do list and then very proudly cross holiday cards off you list.

Here is the card I opted for this year.  I love its simplicity and pop of red.  It is like a present you can’t wait to open.

Here are a few other options from Paperless Post I really love.

You likely know of my Greek Key obsession!

This one brings me back to the sleepless nights of having newborns that I thought would never end!

What about you?  Have you ordered your holiday cards this year?  Save yourself the headache and some trees and go digital!

Fall Favorites From Target’s New Home Line

Hi friends!  I received a cataloge from Target a few weeks ago and it appears they have launched a few new brands, include a home line called Project 62.  Here are a few of my favorites.  Apparently, blush tones are very in which is good for me because I have a lot of them in my home.

Planter / Abstract Art / Pillow / Vase / Wreath / Mirror

The abstract art print is a steal at only $70 dollars given its scale.  Apparently, designer Emily Henderson has the same print in her home.  I am really tempted to get it for my bedroom.

Have you added any fall details to your home?  I seriously need to restrain myself.  I have been buying way too much home stuff lately.  Darn you Target!!

Until next time.

Tried and Tested: An Amazing Source for Designer Pillows

Hi everyone!  Just popping in today to share a wonderful Etsy store for designer pillows.  I first heard about this source from blogger Emily A. Clark.  It wasn’t until I ordered one for myself, that I decided to share it with my lovely readers.  Gotta test the goods, right?

The source is called Sweety Store (cheesy, I know).  They have a wonderful selection of designer pillow covers for VERY affordable prices (starting at about $14.99).  I was worried that they would look or feel cheap or look like knock offs, given the price, but I am pleased to say that they are high quality.

Here is the pillow cover I ordered in Kelly Wearstler’s Channels pattern.

Here are a few other patterns I am swooning over.

The shipping was really fast considering they are coming from China.  If you need pillow inserts, my favorite are these from Ikea.  They are down and only $9.99.

We are heading off on vacation next week, but I still hope to post.  Vacation at last!

My New Favorite Source for Treasure Hunting

Hi all!!  If you have been around here for a while, you know that I love a good estate sale.  Some of my favorite finds have come from our local estate sales.  I am on the list for several estate sale companies who send me emails regarding upcoming sales with pictures of the items included.  I am hooked.

That is why I was so excited to discover an online estate sale site.  It is called Everything But The House.  I have been spending hours at night searching this site.  They are in many cities around the United States, although they also ship to you.

Here are some of favorite things on their site this week.  Some items have a bid of only $1.  Crazy, right?

These malachite trinket boxes are such a conversation starter adding a pop of color and interest to any space.

This faux bamboo mid-century modern end table is just so glam.

These chairs are such a classic sillhouette.  I imagine them lacquered in a shiny white and upholstered in a few bright pattern.

This umbrella stand is just too chic.  Chinoiserie print combine with Greek key- yes please!

EBTH is an amazing source for vintage rugs.  I am always on the lookout for these.

How fun are these red rattan bistro chairs?  They could work indoors or outside.

EBTH also has jewelry and designer clothing and handbags in addition to home decor.  My only negative is that sometimes shipping can get really high, so expect that if you are bidding on a large item.  If you are local, you can also pick up to avoid shipping costs altogether.

My rule of thumb when it comes to decorating is that it has to look collected. Shopping at estate sales is the perfect way to find those types of unique and collected one-of-a-kind pieces.

Have you every shopped at EBTH?  Are you an estate sale junkie?  If so, let us know in the comments what your favorite treasure has been!

Until next time,

Have you tried Framebridge???

I am so excited today to share with you an awesome source for custom online framing.  If you haven’t heard of them, Framebridge offers the most unique and amazing frames and makes the entire process entirely seamless.

We had taken family photos last fall and per usual, I had done nothing with them.  I was excited to try Framebridge as I had heard rave reviews about them from other bloggers.

They make it beyond easy.  First, you pick out your frame.  They have an amazing selection of frames that you can’t find anywhere else.  I chose this gold bamboo frame called “Mandalay “ for my photo.  This frame had me at “hello.” If you have been around here for a while, you know my obsession with faux bamboo!

Next, you either upload a photo or mail in a physical photo or piece of art.  Don’t worry, they send you a secure pre-paid mailer to mail in your piece.  Within days, they mail you your beautifully framed artwork.

Here are the girls holding our framed family photo.

Here is the frame once it made its way to our wall.  Don’t you think it complements my favorite blue and white wallpaper well?

Here are a few other frame choices I really like.  I am really obsessed with this burl wood frame, which is so in right now.  I have a few ideas for things I might frame in this.  I mean, seriously, where else can you get a burl wood frame??

I could not be more pleased with the process, service and craftsmanship at Framebridge.  If you are waiting to frame that perfect piece of art or family photos, or to create that gallery wall, look no further.  And, just for my readers, I have an exclusive promo code for you to save 15% off your first Framebridge purchase.  Just enter decoratingdelirium15 at checkout!
