Happy Monday everyone!! I still think of 2014 as being eons away, but apparently Benjamin Moore has been thinking a lot about it. They have announced the color trends and color of the year for 2014.
The color palette is named “The New Neutrals” and consists of 23 soothing colors.

Ellen O’Neill, Creative Director at Benjamin Moore says they have seen a “shift away from gray to tints of blues, greens, lavenders and pinks.” There is a “shift to pastels without pastels without looking too ‘candy’ too ‘Easter egg.'”
I like pastels, but in small doses. Of all of these colors, I still tend to favor the those with gray undertones, like White Dove and Nightingale. I also think the Caribbean Teal could make a bold statement if done right.
Benjamin Moore has also selected Breath of Fresh Air as the color of the year.
Here is the color in a room.
Always keep in mind that the amount of natural and artificial light in a space can alter the color. I think it is a nice, delicate blue, but don’t think it deserves the “color of the year” award.
What do you think? Do you like the “New” neutral palette from Benjamin Moore? Does the Breath of Fresh Air color leave you relaxed or gasping for air?
