A Tale of Two Mirrors

Hi everyone!  I hope your week is off to a great start.  We are on vacation this week, so I hope to relax and also catch up on some blogging posts I have been meaning to share with you.  For now, I want to show you a fun paint project I did that has made a big impact.

A ways back I scored a major find on Craigslist.  It was a vintage Henredon dresser and the price was right at only $200.

What sweetened the deal even more was that it came with two beautiful faux bamboo mirrors.  It is so hard to find a set of matching vintage mirrors, so I could not believe my luck!  Here they are.

I didn’t have room for them in our bedroom above the dresser, so I had long-term plans to paint them and use them in our dining room.  We recently painted out dining room a really deep purple, almost an eggplant color and I opted to paint them a very light shade of lavender.  Bold color choices, I know!

All in all I am very pleased with the results.  The mirrors really complement the other pieces and accent colors I have going on in the dining room.  The room is starting to turn out pretty glamorous considering I found most of it on Craigslist!!  See you can have the look for less!

What do you think?  Have you ever sacrificed a vintage piece in order to make it your own or are you a purist who thinks it should be kept in its original condition?

Until next time.

xoxo,

Both pieces are amazing. Love the mirrors painted. Gold would b a great color for them on your next makeover.

  2. They are perfect and love that you painted them white!
